Third-sector actors (Social Cooperatives, NGO, Associations etc.), Social Entrepreneurs, Social Assistants, Teachers, Educators, Legal Professions, Cultural Mediators, Researchers interested in deepening a multicultural approach to migratory phenomenon.
OBJECTIVES OF COURSE
It is very important to study the relation between our society and immigrants and refugees. Because of increasing migratory fluxes, immigrants are increasing in our country and in Europe. For this reason and in order to develop properly the own work, it is necessary to know migratory fluxes phenomenon, through a cross-sector approach and a multicultural perspective.
TEACHING CONTENTS
I MODULE (One Day)
– Elements of geopolitics, anthropology, geography and history in order to analyze migratory fluxes (one hour)
– Basic notions: people, population, minorities, emigration, immigration and migration in a geopolitical transnational and multiethnic space context (one hour)
– Migration causes, relation with work flaws, political changes, territorial conflicts and emergencies (two hours)
– Migratory strategies, ethnic installment (one hour)
– Legal frame of migratory phenomenon (Italy, Europe, UNCHR etc.) and possibility of intervention and assistance: human rights of immigrants and refugees, family reunion, right to citizenship and recognition procedures (two hours)
– The humanitarian issue, security and fight against trafficking of human beings (one hour)
II MODULE (One Day)
– Most common trajectories of immigration towards our country, the base Nations for the organized passage and the “doors of Italy” (two hours)
– Demographic and economic consequences of migration for Countries of origins and destinations; multicultural analysis at national level (two hours)
– Integration and coexistence perspectives (one hour)
– Mediterranean as strategic resource and cooperation place after the Arabic Spring (two hours)
– Case study: return migration flaws, their sustainability, “voluntary assisted return” programs and news demographic and political scenarios (one hour)
TRAINING METHODOLOGIES
The course entirely develops in class. Frontal lessons and concrete exercises will be duly balanced.
TRAINING MATERIAL
At the beginning of each lesson students will receive printed slides. During lessons, websites and useful links will be communicated to students and this material will be used for the development of different simulation exercises.
DURATION OF COURSE
The course will last 16 hours.
